Success in the Three Rivers Cup Series - Pittsburgh
Congratulations to the 2005 Jr Cougars Tier 1 team and Coach Mike Horvath for their performance and success in bringing home the silver this past weekend at the Three Rivers Cup Tournament series in Pittsburgh!
It was a great weekend of hockey and fun starting with an amazing hotel stay and ghost stories dating back to the 1920’s as told to all by the staff, which made for some great fun as the boys became ghost hunters!
The first game vs Ann Arbor Wolves was very physical and the team pulled off the first win of the tournament with a high score of 10-3 . The second game vs the Cincinnati Swords was closer and the team worked hard to pull off their second tournament win with a score of 3-2. Game three against the 04/05 Bowie Bruins from Maryland was a fast game, but the Jr Cougars came out on top and gave the team their third straight win with a final score of 5-2.
Sunday afternoon saw the team play the Bowie Bruins again in the final Championship game. It was a fast game, back and forth with each team playing hard and a tied score until the 3rd period. Our goalie was pulled with 1 minute and 35 seconds left to go. The team played hard with a lot of effort and strong team play and are very proud to come home with silver.
